2010 Movie-Making Class

Last fall’s class was a huge success. Our students produced wonderful “grassroots” movies, telling their dramatic stories to a packed Gala Premiere crowd at the Greensboro Historical Museum in November. Those videos are featured on our Facebook group, “Movie-Making for Immigrants and Refugees.” You can see our videos here.

Now FaithAction and the American Friends Service Committee want to offer another class and we need your help. Our students commit to every class for ten weeks and we offer them the skills to create their own stories in video– for free.

We are accepting applications now for the new class starting April 10. Our students learn storytelling, camera use, video and sound editing. In ten weeks, they create a short movie with their own story. Our volunteers, experts and passionate amateurs in the fields of photo, audio and video editing come from High Point University, Winston-Salem State University, and private industry.
