On May 1st people throughout the country will join marches, prayer vigils, and other events in support of Immigration reform. For the past few years, May 1st has become a national day to call for immigrant justice and this year we are closer than ever to achieving comprehensive immigration reform, while at the same time fending off anti-immigrant legislation around the US. Join us in Greensboro at the small park at the corner of McGee and Davie Streets in the downtown area for a short gathering at 6 p.m. Then help us make a clear but silent witness for comprehensive immigration reform by joining us as we line Elm Street with people holding signs upholding human dignity and calling for positive reform.
We will stand in witness for 30 minutes and then we will gather again in the park for a few words in closing.
